The SFIFF Is Now An OSCAR Qualifying Fest Three Times Over

The San Francisco International film Festival has been chosen as an Academy-Award qualifying festival in the Documentary Short Subject category. Now we have three shorts categories as Academy Award qualifiers – Narrative, Doc and Animation.

Short documentaries of no longer than 40 minutes, which receive our Best Documentary Short Award, may be eligible to enter the Documentary Short Subject competition for the concurrent season (this year the season runs from September,1 2012 to August 31, 2013), provided the films meet all the requirements set forth in the Academy’s official rules.
