The SFIFF Is Now An OSCAR Qualifying Fest Three Times Over

By Ted Hope

The San Francisco International film Festival has been chosen as an Academy-Award qualifying festival in the Documentary Short Subject category. Now we have three shorts categories as Academy Award qualifiers – Narrative, Doc and Animation.

Short documentaries of no longer than 40 minutes, which receive our Best Documentary Short Award, may be eligible to enter the Documentary Short Subject competition for the concurrent season (this year the season runs from September,1 2012 to August 31, 2013), provided the films meet all the requirements set forth in the Academy’s official rules. You can find the rules posted on their website www.oscars.org/rules

This site could not have been built without the help and insight of Michael Morgenstern. My thanks go out to him.

Help save indie film and give this guy a job in web design or film!
