If You Love Something, Set It Free

I caught all the toads I could as a kid.  I kept them in cages.  One morning, they were all gone, and in their place was a note from Walter Wart The Freak Frog.  This lovely short animation reminded me of those days…

It’s The Weekend. Come On Down To THE PUB.

It’s not where I care to hang, but I do dig both the style of animation and the mood and tone Joseph Pierce captured. Very well done piece.

From Last Week’s Tragic Artist

If you watched “RYAN” last week on this blog, you know of which I speak. If you haven’t start there and then come back.

This short was conceived and animated by Ryan Larkin.

This Short Captures So Many Things I Love

RYAN is a perfect balance of form with content.  It is an expressionistic documentary, an animated essay film.  It respects life and our struggles. It is about the creative process and inspiration.  It is not to be missed.  It won an Oscar in 2004.

I am the walrus I mean hedgehog in the fog. Go explore, but never forget what sits by the fire. This should be San Francisco’s National Film Anthem, IMHO.
